K&N Oil Filter

Old fart with a wrench
Gentlemen....I've been running various Valvoline oils for over 200K miles in my 2000 WJ which, BTW, contain around 600 ppm zinc and my cats are still functioning and as well as all 4 02 sensors. It's only in the past 10K that I've been running T6 so we'll see what happens. How did this filter thread turn out to be an oil thread? We've been beating this dead horse way too long. Nowadays, internal filter medium collapses are about as rare as rooster teeth so run whatever you want and stop worrying.

See, now you are changing your story. When I asked you if you had a link, you replied yes. When I asked you for the link, you said I would not understand it, meaning that you have read this so called article, which in turn would mean it does exist. Now you are telling me that it is not known if the link does exist and if it did, whatever is on the link might not be true.... Get your stories straight buddy

...well, when it comes right down to it, my perspective really only matters to me.

It is not a matter of perspective. Its a matter of facts. And the facts on the table are not an unsubstantiated claim. You said one thing and then said the opposite. Those are facts, not my side of how I am viewing things and the true evidence is out there. If you have your reading glasses on, I am sure you can see the evidence that came from your own fingers. You obviously cant see how you are a keyboard cowboy (if you didnt see the link about that earlier, please click on it. It mentions you by name in the 2nd post) and your post are not helping others, they are ruining countless threads. I know I might as well be talking to a wall right now so I am out. Good day sir.

I just got my T6 from Amazon today. Kind of an inconvenience that it comes in gallons tho. I just like dumping the bottle in and using the empty to bring to the recycle place. Now I gotta buy quarts, or start another gallon, or run a quart low. It's always something.

I don't think you're going to find T6 in quarts. I haven't. Buy 3 and save the 1/2 bottle for the second change. I measure it out in a 1/2 gallon juice bottle and just pour it in. IDK about your jeep, but both mine take 6 qts.
Have you ever changed the oil in a large diesel using quart bottles?

Now that's interesting! It would seem if Shell were REALLY playing to the flat-tappet crowd they'd make quart or 5-quart bottles.
Shoulda bought the 2.5 gallon jug.
I really can't fit in 6 quarts at oil change. Maybe cause I change it cold.
Or don't let it all run out.
And park it on a hill.
Or maybe that big dent in the oil pan has something to do with it.

But I do have a theory, which I plan on testing today (if it's not pouring. Still).
I am not alone in saying 6 quarts is too much for a 4.0 (and I have a link for that too). But it doesn't make sense, unless one or more of the above is occurring.
However, as you might recall, I changed my motor mounts because they were tired:
There was a measured difference of 3/8" between old and new, and certainly more than that when the weight of the engine was applied.
Now if I'm jacking the engine up 1/2", and it's in the middle(ish) of the engine, I'm anticipating the level of the dipstick is going to come up about that much.
So anybody claiming that their 4.0 uses 5 quarts of oil needs to check their motor mounts.

I use to use a NAPA Gold 1459 which added ~1/4qt more to the full line but was too expensive. Using the NAPA Gold 1515 now which adds a bit more than the filter listed for the 4.0 XJ. Wasn't so much trying to boost capacity as I was more filter area. Probably doesn't amount to a hill of beans though.
