Default Just put on a 2" lift

Alright, so I just put in 2" OME leaf springs and 2" coil spacers and I'm getting a weird vibration when I'm coasting. It seems to be coming from underneath me so does this mean I need to drop my transfer case? What else should I be looking at?

Thanks,
Theo

With only 2" of you don't need to drop the transfer case. I would start by getting an alignment then go from there. You should always plan on a front end alignment when you do a lift.

X2 on the alignment, but I just did a 2" and got no vibrations, but I don't drive above 45 anyways. Is it only at top speeds?

I already got my alignment done, and no it's not just at high speeds. It happens on surface streets while coasting between 30-45 mph. I didn't think i'd need a tcase drop, but i'm struggling to figure this out

rotate your tires and make sure alignment is right. U do not need a t-case drop.

You may want to check your U-joints. I just did 2" coil spacers on mine and my U-joints are goin' out. May be connected...

it might be your rear u-joints,they have to get used to a new angle, its best to just replace them though

If you take it to a regular shop and they dont know anything about lifts they will "do your alignment" but to factory specs. RV mechanics do great lift alignments.

it's got 105k miles on it. i'll go and replace the u-joints. should i do all of them in the driveline?

so even though i told the alignment shop i put a lift on it they might not have known how to handle it? guess i should call them. what should i ask and what answer should i be looking for?

anything i can do or check myself to see if they did a good job?

tcase drop fixed my drive line vibrations and I only have a two inch lift.... Mine was only on acceleration though. Not sure if it has anything do with your issue though. If the other stuff doesnt fix your problem and you have some 1/4 inch steel laying around I would drill some holes in it and try that for a spacer and if that fixes the problem or makes it less noticeable then I would get a t case drop. I didn't think I would need one either but it fixed my problem. Hope this helps.

Oh and I forgot but here is the t-case drop that I used. I had a hard time finding one for only a two inch lift most were for a 3 inch budget boost.

http://www.quadratec.com/products/16090_1164.htm

Was a little bit more expensive then I thought it would be but it was worth it since it fixed my problem. I would try spacing it with some 1/4 inch steel before you buy the drop kit though to make sure it will fix your problem.
