Just needin some quick help.
1991 XJ 4.0 w/ AW4 tranny
I'm gonna be haulin a shed to our new house with a trailer, and I don't want to do it with the possibility of loose torque converter- flex plate bolts. I've got a rattling going on under the Jeep near the bellhousing, and Im think either loose bolts or my friggin header has finally cracked through and Im hearing the exhaust pipe rattle.
Anyways, Im gonna be going to a friends tomorrow to check em out. If anyone knows, I could really use a write up/ how to and could also use the torque specs. And advice on loctite is also appreciated. Thanks!

I heard from someone that the the bolts were out of factory with loctite. Does anyone know what kind or something stronger?

I am not sure the torque specs, I just snugged mine up when it started to rattle like crazy. Just put some ***** into it, and call it good. Unless someone has a reason not to lol
edit: per my haynes manual, it looks like 40ft lbs?

How do you access the bolts? I've heard people say to remove the inspection cover, but never its location nor how to turn the flex plate to get to the other bolts.

I know there was a write-up somewhere about this topic. And I know someone is gonna mention the search button, however I tried searching both google and forum and couldn't find it.

I think I see the inspection cover. There seems to be 2 small bolts and 2 large ones. I heard that the exhaust can sometimes get in the way.

you can get to all those bolts, just can be a pain to get the plate to slide down sometimes. Im sorry I do not know the correct terms to walk you through the process though.

if my memory serves me correct, (well, most of the time it's out chasin poontang),,,,,,,,the inspection plate wont come off unless you remove the starter.
then to turn it put the jeep in neutral with e-brake on and turn the engine over manually from the harmonic balancer center bolt to get to flex plate bolts.......
think thats how i did it.......
also use a strong flashlight and a inspection mirror and look around the undercarriage there may be some other assy or fastener which you might have overlooked that may be loose.......(trans housing bolts to frame etc)?
just my two cents
