Default Heat not working :(

My heat has not been working since winter started. I got my XJ in the summer so I never really knew if the heat worked or not. I believe it is the heater core. I have flushed the heater hoses. I believe it is the heater core. I can touch both heater hoses while the engine is running so I dont think any heat is coming from the heater core? Does anyone have a write up on replacing a heater core?

if neither heater hose is getting hot u have adiffrent problem I believe, First thing I would do is burb the system, make absolutly sure u are totally topped off on coolant, if the coolant is a tad low, it wont circulate.

you have to back flush the core as well.

try making sure the hoses are the right way round, the input going into the top of the core and the return coming from the bottom.. sorted mine anyway cause some dimwit had put them the wrong way round...

due to the pressure bypassing the heater core, with the pressure working against gravity trying to push the water up the heater core, if this makes sense ? simple way to tell is when the engine is warm, sit the rpm around 3000-3500 and seeing if any more heat comes through the vents...
