Our 2001 XJ Sport just passed 178,000 miles. Even with the 0331 head, it's running great, and I see no reason it cannot run forever, so long as I keep up the maintenance schedule.
I once bumped into a woman in an auto parts store back in 1978, who was purchasing a case of engine oil. She drove her late Grandfather's '46 Chevy pickup, that she boasted having 510,000 miles behind it, still running the original engine and transmission.
She told me, "Kid, maintenance is everything.". You can only imagine the obsessive maintenance schedule I have, but it's worth the effort.

My 98 XJ Classic just turned 235,000 miles this morning on the way to work. Already bagged two Whitetail Deer with it and maybe next fall I'll go for Elk in New Mexico, lol.
