Yeah those leaf springs make a great flexing ride on flat land but in a boulder field you need a real Jeep, an XJ. I like them too but don't tell anybody.
Owning a YJ is like peeing in your pants everyone can see it but only you can feel the warmth! LOL

For down and dirty rear disc on a Chrys. 8 1/4, go find a ZJ with ABS. The brakes come right off of there and go right on to a 8 1/4. The ZJ with ABS was equipped with a D35, as a side note. Late model Stupid Duty Fords (250 model), the rear sway bar links are good on the front of the XJ for about a 4-8" lift. ALOT stouter too. As for the front axle U-joints, the bigger joint came out around '88-89 models with ABS, otherwise pretty much anything after the middle of '95 is a good bet. I am running the whole front from an '88 production '89 model that HAD ABS, I just threw out the sensors. The axle stub is the same as all the others, just knock off the tone ring if you don't want it.

Yes all ZJ's 93-98 got the 318 as a option. And and in '98 you could also get the ZJ with the 360.....

Something else that is a great mod is you can use WJ knucks on TJ, XJ, ZJ and YJ and it give you hi-steer and bigger brakes.

And as for the leafs added for lift Add Bronco II and Explorers there a stiffer rate gain larger lift than the other. (If I remember right the BII pack add almost 7" of lift)
The WJ steering kinuckles,,, do you have to swap to both WJ calipers and rotors? How much bigger?
