I used JK (Wrangler) shocks on the front my of mine with a 3 to 3 1/2" lift. It seems they'd be ok for another 1/2 to 1 inch.

I used Comanche shocks on the rear of the XJ.
You will have to use either Bar Pin Eliminators or press out yours and press them into the JK shocks.

i did this on my XJ with 3" lift. pressing the bar pins in from your old shocks is easy as long as you have a press. they seem to be ample length for my lift, but i think on 4" lift would be pushing it. you would lose about an inch of droop.
