2000 jeep cherokee 4.0 engine vibration
Hello Everyone!
This is my first post
I have a 2000 Cherokee 39k mils, just replaced the head gasket.
the problem that i am having now was their before i replace the Head Gasket.
when i turn the car on the engine vibrates just like if i had a miss fire, but when i changed the head gasket i also replaced the plugs and the ignition coil.
however it still has the vibration. you can really feel it when you put the car in D or R and go slowly
Thanks

Thanks for the replay.
I think i didn't do a good job of describing the problem, so here we go.
the car acts like their is a miss fire and one or more cylinders are not working.
the engine not only vibrates it also doesn't have power. like i said plugs and the coil was replaced, the only thing i can think of is the fuel injectors.
could it be anything else

did you check compression? before/after? is the vibration steady and in the floor board? does it stutter when you accelerate? lack of power or runs great just vibrates?
I guess I am asking if its a run-ability problem or a vibration problem only?
i am guessing motor mounts based on it getting worse with the motor loaded to the ground and goes away in park/neutral?

I have not checked the compression, but its definitely lack of power, and it stutter when i accelerate.
Thanks for all the replays so far

do a motor mount check have a buddy look under the hood and shift from N to D and see if the engine moves like a wild horse. as it has been said it could have broke the coil.

im not 110% sure but i think it means the engine temps rise after the engine has een turned off. the engine was running hot and continues to after being shut off

I would pull your plugs and inspect them. Also, like an above poster said, try to re-seat your ignition coil, and re-seat the coils over the plugs.
