Default Jeep won't drive, diff might have poped

Driving down the highway, I hit a bump and hear a huge bang then it won't drive I put it in gear and it will spin the drive shaft then hit a huge Buckel and stop spinning. I looked at my diff which is a Chrysler 8.25 and it had a huge bump on it. So what could have caused this?

Something in the diff has blown out, you are going to likely be replacing that rear end. I would look for a shop specializing in gears rather than general repair.

Looking forward to a picture of the inside.
The entire axle assembly can be replaced yourself for $100 - $200.

Any symptoms leading up to this? I am having some drive train noise coming from the rear and this just sunk my heart.
