When at temp is normal, and I put it in reverse the engine shuts off. 01 xj base model 2wd

 

Oh it only does it at 210

 

No possible solutions at all? This is my boss's jeep

Can't find a correlation between engine coolant temp and shutting off only when reverse is selected.

Someone may have run across this before and pipe in.

This is a WAG: There may be a problem in the ignition switch where there is an Ignition Switch Interlock; There is a slider that connects the shift selector and the ignition switch, which may be defective and when reverse is selected the ignition switch is turned off. Big ?
