Default Jeep Dies When Given Gas
1989 Jeep XJ 4.0

Starts fine idles fine in every gear. Once I hit the gas it will die in 5-10 feet. Randomly happened any ideas? thanks!

Well with so little info, I'd check battery voltage while running and fuel pressure. Never hurts to clean all the grounds up.

First of all, read this:

Next, do the things that post tells you to do. I can't stress how important it is for Renix XJ owners to follow Cruiser's tips.

Then check your fuel pressure.

msch1772 is spot on.

Complete Tips 1,3,4, and 5 before chasing your tail with other things.

I also suspect a fuel delivery problem.
