99 XJ, Another Crank No Start...??
99 XJ, 4.0, AW4
Cranks but no start. Seems like it weakly wants to start.....
Fuel pressure at rail......
Mopar CPS app. 2 years old
Bosch fuel pump app. 10 months old
Replaced dist. cap & rotor
Replaced ignition coil
No codes......
Plugs were wet with fuel from repeated start attempts.....
Original cam position sensor (stator)
Other than a repeat CPS failure, what direction should I be looking? I feel that I'm not getting spark or getting a very poor spark.

Epilogue..... Gave up on troubleshooting. It got too cold and snow squalls made me throw in the towel. Had it towed to the dealer. The next day the tech got in and it started right up. Go figure......

Just prior to being towed, I replaced the cam position sensor and tested the crank position sensor. It improved the "wanting to fire up", but still no joy before getting the hook. The only thing wrong the tech mentioned was that the battery (-) was loose. I can't believe that it was the cause as it cranked just fine. Hopefully this issue is history and it's not an intermittent problem. Had the head replaced with a Clearwater head as well as a new ex. manifold. The APN header that was removed was badly cracked. Runs great now!!
