Jeep cherokee XJ will not start
I have 90 jeep cherokee that im having a starting issue with.. It cranks like no other but will not fire. It has spark I already tested for that. Im assuming it has something to do with fuel..
I replaced the fuel pressure regulator today but nothing. I can here the fuel pump turn on but im not getting any fuel out of the schrader valve. I cycled the key quite a few times and still nothing but overtime I could hear the fuel pump turning on for 2-3 seconds.. So my thinking is maybe the fuel filter would be the next place to go before dropping the tank.
Any feed back or help would be great.
Thanks,
Luke

You said you verified that you have spark, but it is also important that you have "quality" spark. You must have a strong, blue, snapping spark. Yellow/orange/white indicates a weak spark, which may not be strong enough to start the engine.
If spark is of good quality, try spraying a small amount of starting fluid into the intake or a small splash of gas. If the engine runs momentarily using that technique, you have confirmed a "fuel delivery" problem.
You need approx. 31 psi of pressure to start your RENIX 4.0 And approx that when it is idling. When you finally get it running, disconnect the vacuum line leading to the fuel pressure regulator and the pressure should jump to approx. 39 psi.
Good luck!
