Default Jeep Build on Spike TV

Hey all, just a quick note that the show "Trucks!" on Spike is doing a 'cheep jeep' build. I've caught most of the episodes and their great. Check it out if you haven't already: http://www.powerblocktv.com/site3/in...02&ep_sea=0901

I see that there are many parts to this XJ build. I just looked at my DVR schedule and nothing is coming up for the XJ. Maybe I look at "other locations" to get the videos, cause I would love to see all them in a row, from the first to the latest....

ya, they built it from a jy already, was hit in the right front, and they made it look nice. after that dyno run they tore the motor down, and rings were broken and so on. its a cool build.

the work already done on the inside was cool. they made some cool mounts for hi lift jack inside. and the winch goes in the hitch reciever, and they built a reciever on the floor inside the back, so the winch is mounted there when not used.

There's a big problem with it though. They built an awesome looking set of bumpers but they did not build the front bumper as strong as it should be. On the front they just duplicated the stock mounting brackets. They never showed the rear bumper build in process, though. Over all a great build. I can't say that I agree with their choice on lift though. It looks like a great kit, but this is the "Cheap Cherokee" build and they went with a $1000 Skyjacker lift. I'm surprised they didn't go with a cheaper option.

Sure it makes sense. Skyjacker is a sponsor.

There is a thread already going on this guys. My only thought about the whole thing and I watched them was the fact it was supposed to be a CHEAP cherokee and by the time you figure in lift, lockers and everything else it wasnt really a CHEAP cherokee any more. they had 7k wraped in it and they got it for free.

i agree somewhat about the cost. i think they put an arb in it right? i know they stayed with a short arm lift, there's definately more expensive lifts. i think they shot for a balance of affordable, but capable.

i dunno, 7k total in a really capable trail truck is pretty reasonable.

I have only seen two episodes. Is there more? So far it looks cool. Nice to see someone do a build on a cherokee.

I've got all 5 episodes on my ipod, got them from itunes. They put an Auburn Ected in the front. It actually wasn't that cheap, I can't remember what it had for a rear-end but if it was the 8.25 they could have converted it to a 29-spline, which would have been cheaper than buying the 8.8, but that axle did have a limited slip. I really want that paint they used, thats the best part about the build, that cheap paint. There is also a 5 Grand Cherokee project I have on my ipod as well. Thats a pretty cool build too.

google is your friend "cheep cherokee spike"
removed the powerblock link, no need for it.

if this violates the piracy laws then mods please delete, but I do think I am within my boundaries seeing how google is the actual provider and not P2P, I'm just providing the best word combo for google search.

For a fully sponsored show segment, "Powerblock" They build $20,000 to $60,000 dollar vehicles all the time on those shows, $7,000 to them is cheap.....I paid 800.00 for my cherokee, thats cheap to me
