Default Jeep 4.0 valve spring retainers/keeper

I bought stock valves and springs from melling and when I put the new single Groove keepers on w them the valve stem seems to be sticking up higher than stock was out of the retainer w the 3 groove valves and retainers. Does this look ok to you guys or should I find different retainers?

That looks like you got the wrong angle locks for the retainers. You can see there is a gap between the locks and the retainer. That will be very bad news if you leave it like that and fire it up. Find out what angle locks those are and get the correct retainers.

What are angle locks? curious. Double triple check part numbers. The picture doesn't necessarily look bad but the truth is in the parts and of course the responsibility lies with you, the assembler.

Sorry meant that the locks have the wrong angle compared to the retainers. You can get different angles for both. Most are 7° or 10°.
