Default Interior Spare Question

What is the largest spare that anyone is running in the stock inside location? I want a full size spare or at least close to it. Looking for a recommendation. I don't know if a 30 will fit so i may need to step down to a smaller size. Any suggestions?

i'm running a 29 inch tire on a 15 inch rim back there, just had to play around with the little peg that goes through the rim to get it to fit.

my first xj (4 cylinder) came with a donut spare. The one I have now (4.0) came with a full sized spare. The difference was the bolt that mounts it to the wall (the one for the full sized tire is longer). I use both, the donut when I'm kicking around town cause I want more space in my interior, and the full sized tire for when I'm wheeling (don't want to run the donut on rocks in 4wd). I think my full sized is 29", but there is some room for a little bigger, probably a 30", 31" would be pushing it.
Hope this helps

does the "kinda sorta" part mean you're not using the stock mounting bracket?

I have 31", stock bracket removed. I just ratchet strap it in, in the stock location. You might be able to get a 32" in if real low air pressure.

I have a 235/75/15 in the back. It fits perfectly in the stock location.

I've got a 235/75R15 on the stock mount... it's 1/4" from the glass and the seat. I used the longer offset stud from a "full-size spare" optioned XJ.
