Question Interior lights comes on when I accelerate.

My interior lights comes on when I accelerate hard and then goes off. Where should I start looking? This happens to both front and back dome lights. I have the 95 6cyl Cherokee Sport. The light is only on momentarily.

Interior lights are constant power with switched ground. There are switches at all the doors, tailgate latch, and headlight ****--if any of them are closed to ground, the lights come on. What it also means, is that any piece of ground wire that touches the body is enough to activate. Happy hunting!

Personally I would start looking at the fixtures and door jambs, anywhere unprotected wire could have worked loose and be touching the body. Should be yellow wire.

That's a rare feature that was only available in the 'Map Reader" edition of the XJ.

I actually second freegdr's advice about checking the back hatch area first. That's the body part most subjected to inertial movement.

Thanks for the help. I think I'll start at the tailgate and work forward.

My Flux Capacitor went nuts once and caused the same problem.

I had to jettison it before it blew up.
