My son just wrecked the front end of his 2001 Cherokee Sport 4 door. 4 speed automatic 4.0 - 6 cylinder. Both air bags did deploy.

My plan is to find another Cherokee with maybe a blown engine or rear end damage. My question is what other year models will work as far as interchangle parts??

97-01 is what you will be looking for as its the same body style.

 

X2, 97-01 for body parts. For suspension I think you can go to 84, for motor and drivetrain to 96 (someparts to 1984). Note on front suspension we are interchangeable with most parts from ZJ and TJ also.
