Default Intake stud

So, oil change yesterday. Asked mech to snug up manifold bolts while he had it in the shop.

One of the intake studs is broken. Estimate is 600 to replace stud and put in new gasket.

This is an 87 waggy/4wd/4.0.

What's the remedy?

Is this something I (female/no upper arm strength) can reasonably tackle in a town-house parking lot with hand tools?

Should I replace the manifold while this is being done?

Is there a specific gasket that I should use?

Intake manifold uses bolts. Exhaust manifold uses only 2 studs. One at the front and one at the rear. $600 is a rip.

X2, $600 sounds like double, (at least). It potentially could be done in, say 4 hrs. I spent a weekend on mine, you can get into everything else pulling the manifolds. The asembly isn't supper heavy, but a bit aquard. (40lbs?). You might want a hand for the actual removal, and install. I wouldn't change it if it's not cracked.

Cruiser knows your Jeep! Yea, just studs on the ends. The rear one is a real hassle...hope that's not it. The bolts between.....with a straw or a twig you might probe the hole to see if it's just missing, or broken off. With the air cleaner all those lowers get allot easier to reach.

If it is only one of the studs I honestly probably wouldn't do anything besides tighten the rest

Why did you ask for the manifold bolts to be tighted? Did/do you have an exhaust leak?

If it's the front stud you can probably run w/o it. I've been w/o mine for a long while and no problems except having to look at a missing bolt.
