I have bought a new head unit from Crutchfield.

Problem is I am new to anything car related. My car is a 1995 Jeep Cherokee Stick Shift. I encountered one problem when taking the trim off so that i could take the old receiver out. I unscrewed all four screws. Unscrewed my steering wheel cover and took the steering wheel cover off. Then when i tried to remove the trim it was stuck. When I looked to see what was keeping it there it was the metal piece that hooks up to the lever to tilt the steering wheel up or down. I managed to get it out but it's going to be hard to get back in. And I don't want to break the plastic. I hope you understand what I'm talking about. If not I can take a picture of it tomorrow and post it here. But generally I really don't understand what to do with the wires for the old stock receiver. Because the stock receiver plug doesn't fit the new plug for the back of the new receiver. I also want to run an Aux cable and my USB cable somewhere easy to access because they are both located on the back of the receiver and not the front. I haven't really dove into this at all. I'm just looking for some tips before I start this project.

First of all nice unit
Whatever you do dont be the person who cuts up the stock radio plug harness go to best buy and buy a radio harness kit to hook up and aftermarket radio it will make it alot easier. Then solder the wires together so you dont have to worry about connestions coming loose. If I was you I would run the USB cable and AUX cable to the glove box or the center console both should be pretty easy to do.

Just installed the same unit in my buddy's Audi. Very nice radio. I have the lower end version.....630 UI.
The dash bezel will need to "flex" or bend a little to go back in. Just work slow.....it'll go back in without breaking.
Now the radio should be plug and play. If you bought it from Crutchfield, they should have also sent you the Metra or Scosche brand radio harness adapter. Did you get that? If not, get one and just connect all the Sony radio harness wires to the adapter wires, then plug into the Jeep.
As for routing the USB and AUX cables.....best I can suggest is from under the dash at the ash tray or maybe going to the glove box. You may need to remove some other screws to get to other spots though.
Good luck!

I think he means the plastic covering around the steering cover.
And yes and dash cover is a pain to get in and out, its the only thing i dread removing on my heep.
X2 on not cutting up the stock wiring harness, I wanted to call up the PO and ***** him out for making me figure out which wires are which when i installed my head unit.

I uploaded the pictures. For some reason picture upload sites aren't working for me today.. like photobucket and imageshack. Well anyways. The white squares are the areas of stress on my trim. The copper piece for locking my steering wheel in place puts stress on the trim and so does that little black box on the side of the steering wheel. Any tips on a safe and easy way to get it back in? I haven't started the wiring process yet. I just removed the old unit first. but as you can see, my trim is getting messed up by the thing that tilts your steering wheel and the black box.
