Do I have to do anything special to install spicer 5-760X u-joints in to my dana 30 shafts? I thought they just swapped in.
The wholes on the ears of the shafts seem too small to be able to fit these u-joints.
Am I missing or forgetting something?
Please help...

The shafts are the non disconnect type. I believe they're from a '99 XJ.
I also have another set of shafts and they're from a '94 XJ non disconnect and they seem to small.

guaranteed to fit into the 99 xj shafts. they didn't use the 260 joints in the newer jeeps.
but not only the vacuum disconnect shafts used the smaller 260 joint, but the solid shafts from 91 to i think 94 or 95 all had the smaller joint unless it had abs. with that said, even 87-90 with abs used the larger 297 joint which will accept the stronger 760 joints.
95 and up were all 297 joints.

That's what I thought. I bought the shafts from a guy from another forum and he swore they were from a '99 but I'm not so sure. I don't think there's anyway possible I could fit the 760 joints in them without boring out the hole. The shafts were already disassembled when I bought them so I can't cross reference any thing.
Can I measure the hole on the ear of the shaft to get a size I can compare to other u-joints?
