I have the opportunity to strip a 96. I have yet to contact the seller, he just listed front axle and rear axle, didn't put what kind of axles they are. The other things I am looking to get are the stock air box and the factory cross roof bars. The other thing I was thinking about was gettting the roof rails since they are full length and the ones on my 2001 are shorter (why did Jeep do that)? Can I rob these parts and put them on my 2001? If I don't hear from anyone I'm just gonna call and meet the guy with my Jeep and should be able to figure out what would work, just wanted to get some info from some experts first. Thanks!

The fron axle in the 96 is the better high pinion D30. As far as the roof rack or any other body part, you'll have to look and see what will work and what won't. The interior is totaly different, and there are a few differences with the exterior.
