You could disconnect the possitive but then you would have to reset your radio and other electronics everytime you flip it, same with the negative. Also look at the cranking amps on your battery. it is more than 500 amps almost guaranteed. Personally i would cut power to the power distribution center under the hood. Or Better yet, pop the PDC open(after disconnecting your battery) and splice into the ASD or fuel pump relays and throw them on a switch. that way it has the possibility of looking factory and you can kill it while running (if ever need be).

I would just assume open the hood and swipe the fuel pump relay and fuse box lid. unless the thief is familiar with XJ's I don't think they will go very far.

Good idea about the cheap starter disable

Then they can still crank it until the battery's dead, leaving you stranded.
I'd pull the starter relay instead. They won't be able to crank it and won't waste time figuring out why. It takes 2 seconds to remove it in the PDC and place it in an empty cavity, waiting for your return. Even if they look around chances are they won't know what, if anything, has been done.

less than one minute, no hotwiring, no broken windows, hardly any evidence at all, and your car is gone forever.

I take a different approach to security though...

I don't have a Car Alarm, I have an AK-74...

I also don't dial 911, I dial .357...

My House Alarm is a 12 Guage...

I Don't need bars over my bedroom window to help me sleep at night, I need my 20 Guage at the edge of my bed...

Lastly, to the OP, a diagram would be awesome! Even if it's MS Paint...
Thats pretty badass and fun to say for sure... in fact I'm the same way to an extent.
I just hope nothing happens when you're away from your house, because I doubt your neighbors are watching all your doors and windows 24/7.

Ok quick question. What if I were to run a relay through the smaller starter wire then run the relay wire up to a switch in the cab? Like how people run lights?

thats how i do mine, works great and you are able to use a small switch without fear of burning up the switch

Who locks there doors? I sure dont. Man, i leave the keys in my ignition for the majority of the day. The only time i take them out is to unlock my house, or when im driving a different car.
