Default Inside water leak

Just checked around the inside of my jeep (98) for an odd smell and found mold under the back seat. It is wet and has water on the left side under the seat. Also looks like it is damp under the very back carpet on the left side also. Any body ever ran into the same problem or is there a common problem that causes this? I am guessing it is the back left quarter window. I haven't had time to check it with a water hose yet and not sure if it will show up. Thanks

Usually it's from a hole in the floor, same problem in my 98

Wow... I'm experiencing a very similar problem myself.

Mine is wet in the cargo area and stinks of mildew. I'm afraid that I'm looking at tearing the carpeting out as I cannot find any bad rubber seals anywhere.

Ya I guess I will just start tearing apart the interior also. I don't think there would be a hole in the floor because there's no rust anywhere else but I guess anythings possible. But I'm assuming that's why they rust so bad on the back floor because of a neglected water leak.

I just addressed this recently. It was my rear window seal.

Lay inside of the back in a rain storm or have someone spray it with water. That'll tell you where its leaking

In case anyone is having the same problem. Finally got my carpet out the other day and there was a small hole on the left side under the carpet by wheel-well. Not because of rust but the factory seam sealer broke apart a little and was letting water in from off the left tire. Going to seal it and check for more leaks but hopefully that was the problem.
