Default Immediate help needed - Steering

I did a search and wasn't satisfied. Here's my problem:

Installed an aftermarket bumper yesterday and took out the bolts for the steering box. Put 2 of them back in but the top one wouldnt line up with the hole so I left it out.

Driving home from work my steering wheel was about 30 degrees to the right when going straight so I took the bumper off and stuck the other bolt in and drove it around and it's still doing it.

Any thoughts??

Can't you just pull off the pitman arm and adjust it back to straight?

Pretty much, but I was wondering if this would make your wheel hit the lock sooner.

Basically the "stop" you feel when your steering wheel gets turned all the way one direction.

[My car's steering wheel turns 3 1/2 turns lock to lock]

no your not turning the tires just the steering wheel as long as the wheels are on the ground

Pitman arms on XJ's are Keyed so that only go on 1 way.

#2
Never drive a rig without all 3 bolts installed into the steering box

#3
Make sure your spacer (between the box and the frame rail) is still there. If it isn't....you might have stumbled upon your problem.
