my 95 jeep cherokee has always ran good but then it starting acting like it was not getting fuel, you could turn key off start back and it was fine.it finally quit running altogether so i thought it was my fuel pump i changed and nothing so i replaced fuel pump relay it started & ran great my wife drove 3 minutes down rd.to walmart came back out & will not start i dont know where to go from here being that iam in for 150$ already i dont want to keep buing parts.

 

try the fuel pressure regulator. That is what mine did and i fixed that and it worked.

 

on the times that it wont start, you need to see if you're still getting spark or fuel to the engine.

 

Did you change the fuel filter? Check the presure at the rail? Test drive it after replacing the relay? Check engine light on?
