Just my $0.02......don't know if all aluminum Griffin radiators use epoxy to attach the core to the tanks, but the one Griffin rad I had (not in the XJ) did. I'll never make that mistake again.

X2 on the full metal, 3 row one from Radiator Barn. I got one before last summer and it kept my jeep cool all summer long even when wheeling or towing someone off the beach...Tj

No.....but I know my radiator has a small leak and would rather replace it for something better than it has now....I know these jeep cherokees do get hot internally and externally....

At twice as thick as other XJ rads I've seen, that Griffin does seem to be the performance "bad boy". Nothing else (that I've seen) seems to come close.

Save your money, install "the bad boy" that is twice as thick as others and be sure to report back with your results.

I'm running a CSF three-row in my XJ, I believe it's copper/brass. Bought it lightly used but at any rate it's all metal. It's been working great other than having the plastic petcock crack on me one day causing all the coolant to drain out just in time to get home. I'd definately replace the petcock with a metal one or a less brittle plastic version, but the radiator itself seems very solid.

I'm running a Griffin aluminum 3-row in my 5.0L Mustang and love it. They are sweet if you want to spend the money. It has expoxied tanks, I've had no problems with it in five years...

Dang, that Griffin radiator is pretty huge compared to any I've seen. Would it fit without any modification?

My guess is the core on the Griffin rad would be pushing 3" thick (1.25" X 2 + X" between the 2 rows). Thickest 3 row XJ rad I've seen is something like 1.5"+ thick. Better have some stout motor mounts when using that Griffin rad.....hate to see the fan in a $600+ rad.

Someone needs to spendy and report back.

im going to be running brown dog mounts once i put my new engine in so im not worried about size. i would in all honestly prefer a direct bolt in replacement then a rad in which i will have to mod to make it fit. if the griffin rad is 3" or more then i would assume modifications will be needed to install.

i did talk to a sales rep from radiators.com today, has anyone ever dealt with them or used any of their products? they offer a a direct bolt in 3row alluminum rad in the 250 range.

i was also looking at the hesco model, again does anyone have any experience with this rad, or the company itself?

thanks for all the help everyone, no matter what application i go with i will def be reporting back with the results.
