i know its def a 3core, i could be wrong on the aluminum aspect of it.

from everything im reading, basically as long as its a 3core i should be good to go. after that comes brand preferance and what the rad will be made out of. am i correct in my thinking? or am i missing something here

Multi-row copper/brass rads are old school and have been around since the beginning of water cooled motors. Do they work?.....sure they do, but most all auto manufacturers have been using modern design aluminum core rads for 20+ years now. Let's face it, there are a number of modern day 1/2 ton pickups with 10K lb tow ratings and none of them have a old school copper/brass rad.

Here's an interesting read on radiator design changes over the years. Remember, just about any NEW rad, even a dinky one, is going to cool better than an old crud/plugged rad.

FWIW, all rads have 1 core. The rad core consists of 1, or more, row(s).

Same here. RadiatorBarn.com's 3-row, all copper radiator fit like a glove in our 2001 XJ Sport, and the build quality was excellent. I think we paid about $175 for it shipped to our door. Four-years later, still working like new. Even on 108-degree days while wheeling in AZ, towing 2700 lbs. with the A/C on the whole time, it ran a rock-solid 205-degrees the entire time.

Copper is old-school of course. I go with what works, and has ALWAYS worked. You won't find cheap aluminum, plastic or epoxied junk on my Jeep.

Be safe, not sorry......get the rad with the OE style internal cooler and run the auxiliary cooler in-line with and after the rad cooler.

So your saying to run both the oem style internal tranny cooler, along with the external option?

That's what B&M says.....and the external auxiliary cooler is installed in the "fluid flow loop" after the OE internal cooler. That was the recommendation stated in the install instructions included with the B&M #70264 tranny cooler we installed.
