unplug the knock sensor.
If its bad and sending the ECM a code to make it think its pinging, it will reduce the timing and cause power and mpg issues.
I've had mine unhooked for over a year without issue. Since it was broke when I got it and $80 seemed pricey for it.

dude dont put a locking gas cap on... leave it sit outside and sorry... dont get some sleep for a few nights and get on to them...
im not gonna say what i would do being prior military and all. haha

This jeep was my first car so on my first ever gas fill up (a mere $20) I brought it home in a gas container a filled her up.... Stole all of it.... I also have my roof rack on and it just sittin beside my house. I'm kinda worried someone is gunna come up here and loosen the 4 bolts and make off with it. If they do, it's war.......

find out who did it and run wires from the starter to inside the gas tank try to start it and boom explosion no more gas stolen

That's sucks that your $hit was getting stolen dude. Thankfully it doesn't seem as though that "wave" has hit south Florida yet. If it does, hoping it doesn't, I'm worried about our plastic tanks. Locking cap is $16 at autozone but lord know how much a new tank or skid is.

Keep in mind a locking cap will keep the more honest or lazy thief out but if they really want it they will poke a hole in the bottom of your tank and then its a repair or get a JY one and swap it. The best thing would be if you could have caught them. On the lighter side you could leave a note to at least leave you enough to get to the gas station. Ha. Or tell them to smile pretty for the camera and maybe they will just leave it. Glad you at least figured it out and its not an issue with the jeep.

well just be happy that that is ur problem and not the engine...lol Still sucks to have someone steal from you. makes u see just how some people are in this world.
