I'm confused
I am wanting to upgrade the alt in my '91 XJ. I found one on ebay, fresh reman thats been tested with warranty, and a direct bolt in. Pumps out 130 AMPS (which is good.. because I just want some extra ampage for 2 fog lights, a new subwoofer/amp/2 speakers, and an e-fan to replace the mech fan). Here's where I get confused:
Someone mentioned that if I upgraded with that alt, I would have to install new wires. Which wires? And is this neccesary?

I'm no expert, I'm fairly new to this stuff but I would think it'd be a good idea to upgrade the wires. Because pumping out more amps would burn out the, I'm assuming, stock wires. See, I'm in the same boat you are in. I got 2 lights I want to put on....So as far as which wires, I got no clue.
