so, after almost 6 hours combined working on replacing my harmonic balancer, i still haven't even gotten the new one on. piece of advice, always make sure you have the correct tools for the job... long story short, when i went to pull the balancer off with a three jaw puller it removed the pulley and not the main part of the balancer. i got the right flange puller and pulled the rest off. now even with the radiator out of the way i still dont have the room to swing a hammer in there to get the balancer on there far enough to get the bolt on and just tighten it down.
so what have you guys done if you've replaced the balancer? or do you have any half wit ideas that just might be crazy enough to work?

What are you using to initiate the c4? Det. Cord? Blasting cap? Make sure you wrap it pretty good with electrical tape. Don't want to lose the energy from your initiating explosive and snot the c4 all under the hood. Personally I'd go with thermite instead of plastique, but to each their own....

Juice.....here is something....for what its worth.....
sever cars/trucks etc......
putting balancer on was tricky......
8" piece of 2x4 flat up against balancer as it is sitting flush(correctly keyed?) on the lip/front of crankshaft. ok, radiator is out ya?
condenser out of the way too? if not no worries.
using a 2'x2' ( thats 2 feet by 2 feet) piece of plywood, put that up against condenser, now, using a scissors jack (all jeeps came stock with 'em)..........this would be ideal by having jack extended to at least snug up both pieces of wood I mentioned and centered best you can tell on center of balancer you are trying to install., and crank away.
the 2'x2' plywood will distribute the pressure away from deforming the fins on the condenser.. Now, if you feel more comfortable, use a longer-wider plywood piece if you think you might damage said condenser. either way archiamedes law/newton law will push that sucker straight onto the shaft where you can put bolt to it. without damage . provided you lined everything up (i.e. balancer on shaft, keyed right)
(trust me on this), it does work, just go slow, if you see any angle as you are tightening, back off re-center and redo.. take your time. you will know when you have it right. It will seat right on. Then bolt will spin right in.
DISCLAIMER: I used this method on several vehicles, depending on user proficiency and adeptness with fulcrum tools I cannot be held responsible for monkeys bearing children with my likeness or multiple fractures of genitals due to jealous wenches!
ARRRRRRRRRGH!

cheers!
