Ignition wires that increase MPG?
Hey everyone,
I came across these wires on JC Whitney that claim to increase mileage by 15%. I am only curious if anybody has had any experience with these or if they would be a complete waste of money. I am very skeptical and didn't think the wires would be able to have this great an effect. Any thoughts?

What a complete load of crap.
There is no possible way that plug wires can give you a 15% bump.
Save your money.
Buy some quality wires (I use Belden usually) for about $30.
And stay away from the chips that "guarantee" similar gains. There is no free lunch people.............
Keep your vehicle tuned up, fresh fluids and expect 16-21 mpg on MOST Jeep Cherokees with a 4.0, give or take a bit either way.

Any good tuneup, will produce MPG gains of this much. Do the math, 10% of 10 MPG's is only 1! So you now get 11 MPGs.
With unknown plugs, wires and cap Im getting almost 18 MPGs from my 5.2lt

Watch out for those devices that improve mileage.
A guy bought several from JC Whitney - wires, plugs, air swirlers, magnets etc.
Now he has a real problem - it gets too good a mileage - every 100 miles he has to stop and drain the fuel tank! He's always trying to find empty tanks or cans to put it in.
