Ignition upgrade help?

Ignition upgrade help?
I have a 2001 XJ with a 4.0L and instead of having plugs,wires, and cap I have plugs and a an ignition coil rail.My question is, does any one know of any upgrades for this rail or am I stuck with just performance plugs? Im new here and would like to find some Illinios wheelers or friends of CF.

welcome to the forum from another illinoisian. there's really no upgrade, thats already an upgraded ignition. and jeeps like to keep the champion plugs that it came with, although newer jeeps my have come with something else with daimler in the mix. but whatever they came with is the best way to go in jeeps.

Yeah, with a Coil on Plug ignition, if it isn't fast enough for you. You need to look into Air Intake, Exhaust or fuel system upgrades.
