Ignition coil bolts size
Looking around and see that my coil it's held on with zip ties. Anyone know the correct size bolts for this?

My part catalog (this is a 97-99 however) only showed the coil and its bracket, not the bolts. Will look into that a bit more.
But there is probably a reason why its tied up and not bolted up in yours...

Is yours a 2000-2001?
There's a possibility that someone swapped in a 0630 head and it doesn't have the mounting holes for the coil bolts, or because they lost the bolts.
Check the casting numbers on the head. Or u could take off the coil and see if there's four holes on the head

Do you remember what size bolt you bought? My son's 1996 Cherokee 6 cylinder and his only has one bolt holding the ignition coil on. I want to get one from work and cant take his off to go match one since he works nights! Thanks

Can't remember exactly, but I seem to remember that for my 1996, it is a stud with 2 nuts that holds a bracket and maybe a ground wire. I have a picture somewhere. I'll post it when I find it.
Edit, I see the bracket in your pic, so disregard my comment above. I don't know the bolt size.

As someone else, there are studs with nuts that hold a metal bracket to the block. Then, there are two holes in the metal bracket. There are small bolts with backer nuts to hold the coil to the metal bracket. I was fiddling with coil on my '99 last summer and seem to recall it was a 10mm. The '99 has a great mix of metric and SAE nuts/bolts. I would definitely get that taken care of. A lot of vibration on the coil would not be good for longevity. It will only take you a few minutes to take the two lower nuts off that hold the metal bracket to the block. Then you can just take it to a hardware store and get the nut/bolt. In my travels, it was a pain in my ***** to get a wrench behind the coil to get the nut loose anyway. Was a lot easier to remove the lower bolts and then deal with those small nuts.
I really dislike that location for the coil too. Gets a lot of heat. Search for cherokee coil relocation. The popualr place to move it to is up by the firewall.
That video has some good details on the studs and nuts/bolts that hold the coil to the bracket.
