Ignition coil
I hope some one can help. I have a 91 cherokee with a 4.0. I recently put a new head gasket set on, new cap and rotor, plugs and wires. When I went to start it, no fire. Nothing was getting to the distibutor. I switched out the ignition coil and still had no fire to the distributer. I put a volt tester on the plug going to the coil and it read 13 volts but nothing coming out the other end. I put two brand new ones on and still does the same thing. Hope some body can help.

When you pulled the head you disconnected the CPS..it leads to the bellhousing from the end of the fuelrail... did you plug it back in?
Thats the biggest no-spark culprit usually.

X2 make sure you have everything pluged back in and have good connection. But if it worked befor and not now thats what I would be looking into.

The cps was the culprit. I really appreciate the help. Its nice to have a website you can go to for advice and not have people talking about how stupid you are. I've recomended this site to other people. Thanks.

Glad to hear all is well. The way I see it everyone will miss something at some time and there is no dumb question except the one not asked. I have had my fair share of days out under the jeep and just got to tired and missed something.

Yup! I got the jeep for free from someone who didnt want to pay to have it fixed. I sunk about three hundred dollars in parts and alot of labor. Nice jeep though. No rust and interior is perfect. Got it running today. Just need to adjust the timing a little bit and I'll be done. Thanks.
