Redid all four grounds that go to the dipstick mounting stud. After I was done, started fine, idled fine.

Came back to it a few min later and started, idle went to 2000 and stayed there until I bumped the throttle. Drove around the block and everything seemed normal.

Checked codes with key and got a 42 or 43 (in addition to the 72 I've been getting lately).

42*: An open or shorted condition detected in the auto shutdown relay circuit. An open condition detected in the ASD relay output circuit. An open or shorted condition detected in the fuel pump relay control circuit. An open circuit between PCM and fuel gauge sending unit. Circuit shorted to voltage between PCM and fuel gauge sending unit. No movement of fuel level sender detected.

Will reset it and see what I get then.

I don't remember getting a high idle, at least not recently, and I did recently fix a long time vacuum leak. Anything to worry about?

 

Did you ever turn the key ON while the grounds were disconnected?

Then just drive it for now if you don't have the high idle.

 

Yes, doing fine now. Going to reset codes today and monitor that.
