Question RPM Idle at 2000?

I have a 1990 Jeep Cherokee and my idle in park is 2000. What could be the causes?

Same happened to me a couple of weeks ago, the idle step motor, not sure of the name, was so dirty it was not seating properly, took it out, cleaned it and re-installed it, everything good. It is a part right next to the TPS, by the throttle body.

It's called the IAC (idle air control). Sometimes you can clean it and it will prolong the life. Sometimes it's just a good idea to replace it
