Hey, this problem has been going on for a while in my 1990 jeep cherokee. I put a new throtttle body, and new tps into my jeep and the idleing has been not as a pain as it was. However, when im in drive the RPM when warm goes to 1000, and when its cold out side its around 500 RPM
Im confused what im doing wrong, or whats wrong with it?

Where did you get your TPS from? Not that unusual to get a bad engine management sensor out of the box with aftermarket.

Also doublecheck your throttle body gasket. Any increase in idle speed and a vacuum leak is suspect.

 

New throttle body gasket should have been installed for sure as Mr Walker suggests.

Did you know the TPS must be adjusted on your 90? You can't just put one on and go.

 

I got my tps from craigan. I also adjusted the tps to factory standards with a ohm meter

 

Can that small crack be the problem?

 

Replace the throttle body gasket whenever you remove the TB. Can't see the crack.

BTW, TPS is adjusted with a voltmeter, not an ohmeter. Which instructions did you use?
