here's the short of it. jeep wouldn't idle under 2000rpm. friend looked at it. said intake manifold gasket, was blown. as I start the tear down. I notice no fuel pressure. then I get to removing the fuel injectors. and notice, the o-ring. on the cylinder port, is missing. and so is the little clip, that holds the injector to the rail. could this more than likely be my problem???
no o-ring could result in a fuel leak at the injector causing that cylinder to not fire properly. This results in a rough idle/no low idle. When you give it gas, enough pressure is generated to allow fuel into that cylinder. replace the o-ring (no need to worry about the clip just yet) and try her out. if it's fine, you've solved your problem. If not, you can cross that off the list and continue the tear down.

Why not replace the oring and find out they're only about 6 bucks for 12 of them and go from there.
