IAT Sensor Relocation

Anybody do this mod and get good results? Looks and sounds like a great idea... if it works as written.

Did a similar mod on my old 4.6L and on my son's current motor. No seat of the pants improvement but it does allow for a more accurate air temp reading.

Anyone do this with a short ram? Drill a hole directly in the side of the pipe to relocate it?
