electrical issues
so my parking lamp fuse keeps blowing on my 90 and i've checked all the wiring.
sometimes the rear pax park lamp works, sometimes it doesn't. gauge lights turn off when they go out too.
all the wiring to the lights is fine.
could the problem be within the light switch itself(which is new)?

went back and checked everything. its all solid and clean.
now going through haynes repair manual. on exterior lighting systems..
the fuse block in the jeep shows 10a but the repair manual shows 20a...
kind of want to go by the book but dont want to melt wires.
any advice?!

You don't have a Mickey Mouse trailer wiring harness on it , do you?

I mean many times there are shorted wires in the trailer receptacles, especially if some PO jury-rigged one on there. This does not mean that your factory harness/plug is exempt from having problems. If it were me, I'd poke my noggin up under there and have a gander, maybe even taking the receptacle apart......

If your dash lights and interior lights go out too then your problem could be anywhere inside or out. You didn't by chance put in an aftermarket radio, did you? Sometimes people mistakenly use a light wire in the radio harness to ground their radio as it will test as a ground until you turn the lights on.
When does the fues usually blow? As soon as you turn your lights on, when you go over a bump in the road, or something like that?

the radio was put in over a year ago by a shop so i dont know what they used to ground it. since you said that, my radio has been acting up(turning off and on randomly while waiting for a redlight and such) but yeah its aftermarket.
the fuse blows randomly. im thinking after medium-big bumps. like hitting sewer caps in the road.

tag light doesnt work once fuse is blown. checked the wiring for it though.
all the fuses are correct amps.
electrical problems are so frustrating
