Default I really hope this is not the end...

So i was told today that i have something hanging under my jeep, i thought oh ok, probably just a branch or something maybe a wire something easy to fix... but no... It so happens to be the rear box that holds what i believe are the emergency brakes? maybe even the regular brakes i'm not sure, i can't get a pic at the moment because i don't have my camera on me. This is frustrating. I hope i have given you guys a good explanation, if not then i guess it'll have to wait till i can get a picture. Thank in advanced.

The part hanging is the adjuster for the emergency brake. But I would be more concerned about the missing chunk of unibody frame. You can still drive it with out the e-brake but not the frame rail.

I know that there was someone had a post one here that they were able to find a kit to repair the frame rails. I think that it was in the mod section. I also know that yours isn't the only one that have rusted out frame rails and the were able to repair them by making and boxing in the rails with out buying the kit. Give the mod section a good search. I know you should come up with some repair ideas.
Do your self a BIG favor and try not to drive her until you can get her fix. Just thinking of the safety of you and the ones around you.

Me thinks you need to evaluate the rest of the unibody structure of your Jeep before proceeding with any repairs. Crawl under the Jeep and visually examine the frame rails and floor stuctures for corrosion, especially rust-through. And using a small hammer tap the frame rails and floor structures; a dull thud heard when the structure is tapped indicates severe corrosion. Based on the frame rail corrosion in that last photo you posted, you may find more damage than wht you want to deal with.

It may be time for your Cherokee to go to its bone bed.

Whew, I'm sure glad I don't have to deal with rust like that.

If thats the frame rail with those holes in it...id say scrap the thing. Unless you are going to do a TON of rust elimination/prevention...then plate the unibody.

You could also find another Xj with no rust and swap everything you like about yours to the new one. Sprey paint it the same color are a different color of your choice and say its the same jeep no one will ever know.
