Default 4WD issue?

So I was driving in our first snowstorm of the year last week, and noticed my Cherokee seemed really squirrely in the snow while in 4WD. It has very new Michelin LTX's on all four corners and has the NP 242 transfer case which I ran in part-time mode. It's definitely turning the ft wheels, but requires allot of steering wheel correction to hold a line and spins like crazy. This is my 3rd season with the Jeep, and I don't recall it being like this in the past. Honestly I ran snows the first season, but any other 4WD vehicles I had in the past went just fine with a set of good all seasons. Are snows just a necessity on Cherokees, or is something up with my 4WD?

Make sure your tires are inflated to the proper psi.

Did it do the same in full time? I'm wondering if your t case was binding

242 has a differential which should be locked in part time, sounds like thats where the problem is.

Tire pressure are fine, didn't notice much difference in full time to be honest. So if it isn't locking the center diff in part time it would cause this? Not sure how I'd be able to tell if it wasn't locking.

You might need an alignment. (How does it drive in 2wd on clean roads?)

Fine. I doubt that is related to this problem.
