Actually I mean my Jeep doesn't. It's the gutless wonder of the new world.
Sort of.
Great acceleration/power above about 2k but when you first start out it feels WAY bogged down. It's only on 31" so it doesn't seem like it should be pulling so hard, but it seems like I'm trying to take off going uphill with the e-brake on pulling a boat out of the water.
Also if I'm sitting at a stop and tap the gas, it falls well below idle and feels like it's going to die for half a second before pulling back up.
Any ideas? Like i said, once you get moving it goes like crazy, but getting started is a B*tch.

I have the same year and tranny as you, and when I had 31"s mine seemed pretty decently powered for having 3.07's. I think it might be a Renix thing, I think they tend to be very tempermental. Mine has great power one day, then crappy power the next.

clutches in the transmission may be slipping, or torque converter is toast?
Check the trans fluid to see what color it is. If its not a good red color then its bad which could mean overheating and other issues. IF it smells like burnt toast, your trans is on the fritz.

It's a manual, so some of those things probably don't apply. I wish I had 3.55 gears or better, but it'll take some money to get that happening. Can't say for sure about the brakes, I'll look later this morning. Haven't checked the transfer case/gearbox/tranny oil so... could be something there.
Guy i bought it from said he'd just replaced the plugs/wires/cap/rotor but you know how people lie to you when they want to sell something, so I'll look into that.
You have to rev it up pretty high and then let the clutch out really easy or it just dies.
Hell, for all I know, the air filter might just be clogged. I really should have gone through this stuff before I asked but I was on here already and I thought I'd get some ideas. Thanks for the replies so far.

Other thing I was thinking....
Looks like someone cut the exhaust in front of the cat and straight-piped it all the way to the back. I knew it was loud, but I didn't really care since I figured I'd just buy a muffler but didn't notice the cat was gone. Could a lack of back-pressure cause problems at low RPMs?

sounds like mine! one day shes super quick and responsive, the next feels sluggish..ive gotten to where i talk to her before i turn the key to try and prevent any mood swings..
lol.. My renix is slow all the time.
But it has a bad pinion bearing in the rear, bad drivers side ujoint, knocking motor, and a bunch of other stuff.
OP,
I would check the MAP Sensor, Oxygen sensor, and CPS
Is it making any weird noises? Running Rich?
