You all goin to laugh at this.UI noticed it a few weeks ago, when I go to turn the turn signals on the hazards come on. What is the problem.

Now the funny part. Tonite I was riding home from wal-mart my sister was driving, and a cop got behind us and we had to turn, so she hit the blinker and he pulled us over. Told him bout the turn signals and he laughed so hard he let us go. We were still in town then. we get out of town and here comes another cop. Told him and he laughed but still gave her a faulty equipment ticket. Atleast it ain't my ticket, the jeep ain't in my name yet and i won't driving.

 

Never got that lucky. Usualy get a ticket if I get stopped. Glad you didn't.

 

But wut is the problem the switch or what?

 

I would post up my thoughts but I would rather research it first alien. I'll try to see what I can find and let you know if I find something in the morning. I have never encountered this problem myself.

 

my first guess would be the turn signal switch...but I'll see what else I can dig up...also could be a grounding issue...need to look at a wiring diagram of the turn signals and hazard lights to find a common denominator and start there..

So far it looks like it is a ground problem in the area behind the spare tire area on the drivers side. There is a ground which when lost has the turn signals and the 4way flashers looking for grounds elsewhere and that can be solved by re-establishing the ground back there behind the panel which is behind the spare. There is also a fuse that might blow behind the passenger side kick panel up front but that is less common. and least common is the flashers them selves go bad and feed off each other. The AZ ones won't work either the only ones that are strong enough are the factory ones from either the stealership or the jy. Try those things and see if that helps alien.
I got banned for awhile tonight which gave me a chance to do your research tonight instead of after midnight like I had planned so thank ktmracer for your early info.

No I think the sister got the ticket not alien. So he was just the passenger.

 

She was let go on the first one, and got one the second time they were pulled over!!

 

But no ticket in your name, is that right alien?

 

NO ticket for me but thats her like 6th ticket and she is 18 bout to turn 19. Back to the problem before the mods moderate.
