I found an injector that is leaking fuel :( Help
Hi peeps,
I have found that after a run down the motorway that I have a fair amount of fuel around the #1 injector. It was even leaking enough to drip on to the warm pump and I could see smoke come off as it burnt.
It seems to be coming from a really strange position, not the bottom not the top from what I can see anyways.
Any ideas what could cause this?

ISO, where are you located. I just tried a Google search and found nothing for a fuel injector source.
This being an Italian engine you might have some luck on an Italian Jeep board? Fantic here might be of great help to you as well.
We never saw this engine in the states, very very rare to see a Renault Diesel as well.

could it be the o-ring?!? don't know about diesel injectors, but my gas injectors have o-rings (washers) that tend to break and cause leaks, sometimes a big puddle! check to see if the others have o-rings. good luck.

Thanks I have had a look over them a few times and removed and replace the bleed off pipes.
I did just think that I have not checked the pipe off #1 that goes back to the fuel tank.
Maybe this is blocked or damaged.
I have cleaned it off several times but it is tricky to see.
I am going to clean it all up again and then run her and look from th front and get a mate to rev a little and see if I can locate the source better.
These are a pain to find so I really hope it is a ring or a pipe
I will report back what I find.
Thanks

Hmmm,
I had a really good poke about and fitted all the bleed off pipes now not just 2.
Whilst I was doing that I had a very close look at the return pipe from number 1 that connects to the banjo at the pump rear. It did not look like it was leaking but I pulled on it anyway and boy did it come off easier than the other pipes on the injectors much easier.
As I did not have a replacement pipe with me I though might as well try turning it 180 degrees and fitting it back on.
I did a huge journey today all over the place and boy! no leaking from what I can see
I will replace the pipe and keep an eye on it ------>
Seems like it may be happy days
