Default I cannot understand how tr. case works.

I was looking at the diagram for pretty long time, trying to understand how it works.
I still don't understand how torque is transferred in 2wd mode.

Here is what I figured out:
synch. sleeve has 2 positions: 2wd and 4wd (in 4wd mode it engages drive sprocket)
range shift hub has 3 positions (?????): 4L, N and 4H (in 4L mode it moves in low range gear (???????))

So, how 2wd mode works? How torgue is transfered from input gear 670 (top of diagram) to main shaft 672 (red line)?

I have to respect moderator!
If you don't know how TC works, it is OK, just say so!
Casey, nice albums!
Didn't you damage roof by sitting on it?

Why can't you figure out that when you shift to 4WD you engage the internal gear which puts torque to the chain and thus the front driveshaft. It works by sliding the gear into and out of the sync hub.

Blue, I understand how synch. sleeve works, I had problem understanding how range hub works.
It seems like I figured it out, I corrected diagram.
Input gear has inner teeth, connecting with range hub in H position
Are range hub positions on green arrow correct?
from left to right on diagram H-L-N???

I don't like how you bash our members and complain about them and then ask for help FROM them. How about you reapect THEM as well as the Staff here?

I'll be out of this forum in about 2-3 days, almost done with XJ.
Cadillac and Expedition engines are next.
You are all right. Why should I waste my time trying to help somebody?
From now on I will not.

Let the countdown begin!!
