I got infraction recently and one step from been banned.
Please, don't provoke me, I am trying hard to be nice.
Back to thread title. So far nobody explained how range hub works.
I would like to know:
hub has ....... positions
in forward position it engages .....
in middle position it engages .....
in rear position it engages .....
I am sure, there are some mechanics, who rebult many TCs, but don't know how range hub works. It doesn't really matter if repaired TC works fine.

car5car,
Is it imperative that you know how your TC works at his point?
I've rebuilt an NP242J transfer case and would get get tongue tied trying to explain in detail how it works.
Why don't you buy a used TC and tear it down to get hands on experience as to how it works. Craigs List has them for about $100 - $150.
Now that you have a lynch party after your **** why don't you just lay low and lurk for awhile.

1. Open your browser
2. In the address line at the top, type in www.google.com
3. In the center of the page (google, that just opened) you should see a blank bar, with the words search and I'm feeling lucky underneath, THIS IS WHERE IT GETS DIFFICULT: type your question into the box.
4. Click, with the left mouse button, the search button.
5. Enjoy the vast knowledge of the internets.
And, as always, Have 'nice day!

Good one, Gee!
I searched internet and FSM, nothing.
Nobody knows. It is OK, it is not necessary to know.
I talked to Chrysler transmission mechanic, he didn't know how each piston in valve body worked.

The thing is, you don't know and nobody cares. Yet you keep trollin' as if people get upset and flustered. However, nobody is upset, complete opposite actually. You are the forum clown. We keep you around just for laughs. Helps us get through our days. Thank you for supporting our narcissistic tendencies.
Gee, here is how people get me mad, SoCal just called me clown. Then I tell them who they are and I get infraction!

SoCal, I forgive you. Californians live on crack. You know there is earth crust crack goes through California, right? They are shaken pretty often. Be safe!
