I was fooling around with some lines cause i noticed Ive been getting bad MPGS (probably cause it just started freezing around here) but i mamaged to brake this line. I know its a vacuum line but idk what its for. Is this important? should i fix it now or can it wait, and if i cant fix it whats it called so i can get a new line..

Thats a vacuum tube.. Cant tell you what it goes to without the other end. But its likely your MAP sensor if you're getting bad mileage. Just go to the auto zone or whatever and bring the tube and ask for vacuum tube and replace it. Its very simple.

I knew what it went to, that's how I broke it, and I knew that it was a vacuum line, but I didn't know its purpose and how it affected the fuel system

That's what I figured but wasn't too sure. Thanks though.

Im not throwing a CEL, Does the MAP sensor start to not work over time? Can they be adjusted/re-tuned without any modifications?

Its not the map sensor, that is on the firewall (or is for renix anyway...)
The vacuum line you broke is going to your FPS (fuel pressure regulator)
the reason you are getting bad MPG is the vacuum leak AND increased fuel pressure.

No no no, I know what the MAP sensor is and where it is, I just dont know how to check and see if its still good, or putting out the right A/F ratios.
Previous poster claimed my bad MPG could be from bad MAP. I just broke the vacuum line tonight, but I bored out the old line in the rubber connector, put the line in there, it fit pretty snug but i silicone'd it shut anyway, ill get a new line within the week.

But im getting like 14MPG doing 80% of my miles on highways not ever going faster than 65 and rarely shifting over 2100RMP.

could be a bad O2 sensor for the poor fuel economy.
