Default HVAC (heat side)...

So here is the situation... 2000 sport I6

got the jeep in APR 10 changed the rad 1 week after, flushed heater core replaced thermostat filled with coolant and deionized water.

I have no heat and no AC, the blower and the selector work fine but all i get is ambient air. no change from hot to cold. my compressor kicks on and off every 30-45 secs when on AC (i just need a charge but my windows work fine!)
I have searched around and look into the heat side. its a fairly simple system but i want to know what everyone else thinks. right know im on the verge of replacing the ac/heat control unit in the dash. from my searches this is the next thing to try. the JY has them for $35 but no guarantee it works. online new is $230---holy crap!

Its starting to cool down in MI and snow will fly soon so please give me a hand!

Yeah you may have the flow valve stuck in the off position or quite possibly a vacuume leak somewhere. I'd check the flow valve under the hood. Make sure the two hoses are getting hot. If you just flushed the rad and it is a larger rad than stock it may need more time to heat up.

Yes both hoses are getting hot and no fluid leaking this makes me think that my heater core is still good.

flow valve? is it in the core?

Vac leak... how do i find out?

gave it lots of time to warm up and air stays the same room temp on all settings.

anyone have luck with replacing the ac/heat control?

Well, one clue that it is a vac leak is when you turn the heat on, and air only comes out thru the defrost vents.

no. my selector *** (the middle one) works on all selections. and thats the only *** with vac lines going to it the other 2 are wires. I think today i will try my luck at the YJ and hope i dont wast $35 on a bad heater control unit.

ony other info of good ideas let me know!

Trace the water send from the rad to the firewall. There should be a junction with a flow control. if it is in the off position then it will flow directly back to the rad through the return line. If you trace the lines to the firewall and both lines are significantly hot then your flow valve is inside your dash and stuck in the off position. Inside your blower box there is an air control lever that sends air to the H-core or bypasses it. H-core may be getting hot water but not getting air to it. That would mean a cable is disconnected - I dont know about your system though. It looks like it may be actuator controlled and the actuator may have gone bad. The lever on my system is just to the left if the recirculation vent in the inside of the cab - under the box itself and it is controlled by a cable(the only thing on my model controled by a cable and not Vac - 94 XJ)
